This little dakasi (turtle) moves from dark to light slowly but deliberately! Handcarved with simple tools, this little votive holder measures 2.5" square. On each of the sides are carved the Cherokee syllabary letters "gigeyu" translating "I love you!" and "tohi" translating "peace" (on two sides). On the fourth side, an eagle feather, symbolizing the lifting of prayer to Creator, and journey to our highest intention, is carved. On the surface, the little dakasi carries your "light" as he moves from the darkness below to the light of above.

The beauty of soapstone is the more you handle it, the more the beauty of the stone comes through so these pieces age wonderfully. A votive candle is included with your purchase. A short name can be carved onto the underside before shipping at no extra cost.

This particular item is shipped in a small Priority shipping box to insure safety. Outside the US and Canada, please convo me for shipping prices.
