Wedding hanger info from blogs and photographers:

**Interesting and informative ideas about wedding hangers from wedding and photography blogs found below.

*Close your eyes. Imagine your wedding day. Beautiful. Gorgeous. Breathtaking. Everything down to the very last detail has been planned – and then planned again. The day of the wedding comes and goes. A couple of months go by. You get your pictures back! As you and your new husband flip through the wonderful pages and pages of timeless moments, you come to a picture of your dress – your dress before it was on you. Your photographer was able to get a great shot of your dress hanging by itself draped in natural sunlight. Wait! Stop! What is THAT? Your $<insert an expensive number> dress is hanging, literally, hanging by a cheap looking run of the mill plastic hanger. Double points if said hanger has dry cleaning foam wrapped around it.

*With so many things on your mind during the planning process, a wedding dress hanger may seem irrelevant. But this often overlooked item can spoil a beautiful portrait of your beloved gown. After going through all the dresses that you had to try on, securing the perfect venue and booking that amazing photographer, a plastic hanger simply won’t do for your wedding gown.

*The wedding gown hanger is one of the most often overlooked details. Imagine a photo of your dress in the bridal suite, cascading ceiling-to-floor and backlit by a soft glow as the sun peeks through the window. Beautiful—unless, of course, it’s draped on a plastic hanger. For photographers, investing in a nice hanger and keeping it alongside your favorite lens will make you look like a genius in this situation.

*You are taking a stroll down memory lane by flipping through your wedding album. Your planner did a knockout job getting all the details just so and your photographer did an amazing job of capturing them all. And then you see your dress - your beautiful dress that took you countless hours and stores to find - and as soon as you tried it on, you knew it was "the one", probably the second most important wedding decision you made (the first being the groom of course). The dress is gorgeous and you looked radiant in it and the photographer was able to get a shot of it hanging by itself in the glow of the sunlight. But wait - what are these memories hanging from? A cheap plastic hanger that looks like it just came from the drycleaner's bin. Kind of kills the romantic image, doesn't it?

*When I meet with my bride and groom for the final time before their wedding I try to remind the bride to put her dress on a nice hanger. The reason being is that when I go to do the wedding dress shot it looks A MILLION times better to have a nice hanger than a cheap plastic hanger. I can’t express to you how many dress shots are just not the same because of the cheap plastic hanger.*Most brides appreciate a photo of their wedding gown before they put it on, and it's a photo that I like to try and take whenever I can. However, I strongly encourage brides to think about the hanger that the dress is on. Usually the dress is hanging on an ugly, plastic hanger that is just not very photogenic. A wooden coat hanger is always a better choice, but there are also really pretty options.

*In case you didn't have enough details to think about on your wedding day I thought I'd bring up the hanger for your wedding dress! Your dress will most likely be photographed and as a result so will the hanger. Instead of just bringing the dress in on the hanger from the bridal salon, take an extra second and grab a wooden one or some other kind of hanger.

*This is one of those details that has always driven me bonkers!! I love, love, love photographing wedding gowns- they are all a gorgeous representation of my brides. After a few years, I decided, no more cheapy plastic David’s Bridal-esc hangers will be photographed. No more wire dry cleaner hangers with padded material to hold bridesmaid straps… It bothers me so much I went out and bought a set of ten black velvet hangers to keep in my photographer tub (which lives in my car!). Just remember this is the day of all days. Spend an extra $100 or so bucks on the little details- you will be glad you did in the end.

*A wedding is one of the few times in your life when you can go overboard on anything and everything. Think about it: What other occasion would you have for buying a beautiful hanger?
