Was 65.00 now 45.00...This listing is for two vintage compacts. The first is a very rare, Paul Flato compact from the 1940s. Mr Flato was considered the Jeweler to the Stars in his day. Bejeweling all of the famous starlets of his time. This gold colored compact is studded with gold dogwoods with clear rhinestones at each of their centers. All flowers are in tact with sparkling rhinestones dotting the center of each flower. Compact is signed Flato. The silver mirror is in tact and has some silvering to the edges. (I love that!). Powder and puff are still inside. All hinges and locks are working. The only condition challenges worth reporting are noted in photo 5. Some pitting to the gold at the clasp end of the compact. Also, on the front of the compact, is a rainbow effect to the finish (like oil on a wet street after the first rain) commonly found on these old compacts. Gorgeous, gorgeous piece, highly sought by collectors. Second listing is for a Charles of the Ritz black and gold enamel compact. This compact is round and includes a soft carrying case. The soft case has seen better days, but is still a good way to protect the piece. The mirror is in tact, all of the hinges and locks work as they should. Some enamel loss to the black face of the cover and some pitting to the gold. I would say this is in good used condition for a piece from the 1950s. This is a great way to start your compact collection or to add that Flato piece you have been seeking. If you need more pictures, do not hesitate to ask!
