English Edwardian button hook, with sterling silver (hollow) floral design repousse handle, hallmarked at the Chester assay office, 1905.

These were used primarily for shoes ("button shoe hook"), but also anything else that required buttoning up, e.g. corsets.

This hook measures 7.5" long and has a nice well preserved steel hook with no signs of rust that I can see.

The handle is a bit beat up, as is usually the case with hollow silver handles.

No engravings or erasures.

Maker's mark unreadable. Date letter capital italic E for 1905 (Chester).
