Entirely hand knit with a luxurious alpaca silk blend yarn spun in Peru and hand dyed in Chile, this cowl is sure to keep you cozy while making your friends jealous. The pattern was not recorded, and this yarn varies from hank to hank, making the scarf one of a kind. I came up with a variation of the herringbone knit stitch for this scarf, which gives an interesting zig-zag look to the front, and creates horizontal ribbing on the back. Cowl is soft enough to scrunch down around the neck, sturdy enough to stand up around the ears. Unisex, one size fits most, and convertible (can be worn as hood/cowl combo.) 30% Alpaca, 45% Merino Wool, 15% Silk, 10% Donegal (refers to the colorful slubs that decorate the yarn and provide interesting, tweedy texture contrast). Hand wash, lay flat to dry.
