Title: La Laine Maroc
With lovely, color-rich illustrations by Roger Roy -- over 40 of them. Introduction by Gabriel Puaux, published by J. & J. Tharaud in Paris, 1946, just after WWII to try to help stimulate Morocco's economy.
Softcover, in very good vintage condition with minor snips and looseness on the threaded binding and a bit of vertical waviness on the blank first page. No tears or stains, just minor wear from its 65+ years of existence.
The paintings really are delightful and vibrant, and the book offers such a fascinating look into a unique place and time!
Weavers and spinners will find this of special interest. So will rare book collectors and art lovers.
The subject is the Wool industry in Morocco. We see shepherds, merchants, weavers, dyers, officials, even soldiers.
Captions are in Arabic and French. Language of main text is French. 12.5 x 9.5 inches, 76 pages. First Edition.
A beautiful and rare book.
