This 23 1/4" inch Native American-style flute is from myrtlewood, a wood found in Oregon on the west coast. A very durable wood, myrtlewood has a silky feel and the sound characteristic is clear and focused. The grain of the top of this flute has a dark streak which looks like a wood burn, but is a natural dark grain. The sound block on the top of the flute is made from a piece of willow that still has the bark. A star pattern has been burned into the wood around each sound hole. The flute was finished and sealed exclusively with tung oil for a natural wood feel. Made by Mark Purtill of Anasazi Dream Flutes (who is not a member of a native tribe), it is signed and numbered "31".

NOTE:
As of 6/14/12, I am reducing the original price of this flute to introduce my Native American style flutes to the flute community.
