Nice early tramp art box made in the 1800's, approximately 7 1/2 inches tall, 12 1/2 inches wide, and 8 1/2 inches deep. Has great brass decorations on the front and sides. It has velvet inserts in all sides. There are no tears in any of them. This box is quite old and the velvet, is very worn and stained. The wood is in good shape but there is one small piece missing from the lower left corner of the front and back. The top hinges are secure and there is a lock in place, no key however .

The paper inside the lid is worn and fragile and is loosening from the box. The Victorian paper cut outs are torn and stained. Pin cushion on top is worn and stained. One of the brass nails on the feet has broken off, so box doesn't sit exactly level.

Overall a very nice example of early folk art.
