OmG! This lamp is created from a gorgeous table leg from an antique, five-legged table whose life as a table had come to an end... I rescued the (5th) tableleg and turned it into a beautiful, primitive lamp. With hints of dark red paint in the "rings" around the top portion, the shapely leg has all of the wear and character that can only be created by years and years. This listing is for the lamp base only. The harp is a brass color and I chose to do the electrical cord in the standard brown.

Because there wasn't a (retail) lampshade available that seemed to lend itself to the character of the lamp, I (re)created one with burlap and edged it in burlap banding with red "stitching" and added a final touch with the primitive, burlap bow.

The wooden "lamp base" portion measures 23.5" high (the harp continues up from there - I used a 10" harp - you could change it for a shorter one if you desired less height. The width of the base is nearly 4.75" square. Weighted nicely, this is not a "wobbly" lamp. I drilled the back side of the lamp and exited the wiring near the base but the lamp does NOT sit on the cord!
