Goin' to the chapel and I'm gonna be chic......

Have that Mad Men inspired wedding. Channel Audrey's style. Buy a dress that is timeless, chic and practical....wear it to the wedding, then have it professionally dyed and wear it again and again.

This dress is so gorgeous!. The photos do not do it justice. This 1950s (could be 60s) dress has aged very well. It is sturdy; it's not a dress that you are going to be afraid to touch and mess it up. There is no label, other than a small size tag--40--on the shoulder. The bodice's lining is a satin and the skirt is lined with a very sturdy white backing. There is a metal back zip. This dress would be fantastic with a crinoline underneath. The dress is tiny, as you will see from the measurements.

History/Backstory: A lucky London find from one of my favorite haunts.

Condition: Excellent. This dress is around 50-60 years old. The flaws I am going to note are all minor. However, I like to note everything my vision corrected eyes can spy. Nothing noted however takes away from the beauty, elegance and overall appearance of this dress. So lovely. T. There is a teeny tiny slight 'yellowing' under one arm. Please see Photo 4, the right side of the photos. Also there are a few small spots on the back of the dress (yellowing, tiny) where the bodice meets the dress. Please see Photo 4, to the left. The dress could probably use a good specialist dry cleaning, but that said, the color is amazing. There are trace (teeny tiny) signs of wear (inside of lining around neck) and there is a speck of a black dot on the back right sleeve.

Measurements:

(All measurements are taken with the garment lying flat and all buttons buttoned, zippers zipped....you get the idea. Measurements are doubled where appropriate, i.e. for bust, waist, hips. Measurements are in inches. I still haven't mastered the metric system.) Please note that clothes are usually pinned for the best fit on the skinny minny mannequin and dress form.

Length (from shoulder to hem): 40"

Bust (from armpit to armpit): 32"

Waist: 28"

Hips: 36" (free)

Sleeve (neck to cuff): 21"

Sleeve Width: 6 1/4" to 5"

Back (shoulder to shoulder): 16 1/2" (this is a dolman sleeve so not really shoulder to shoulder)

Zipper: 23"

Colors: Wedding White

Smoke free home.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look.
