Seed Sack and Wine Panels - NO TWO ALIKE; Pictured is a previously made ottoman so yours might not have similar panels or seed sack. We can send pictures of your finished product upon request.

Due to limited space, we are not pre-making the ottomans. Happily, we are already taking custom orders (we've done over a dozen, so far)!

If you want an ottoman, all you need do is decide which size (see below), then you place and pay for your order, in advance. At this time ,the turnaround time is 4-6 weeks. Since the ottomans are now made to order this gives you some allowance for customization (i.e. - we can send pictures of seed sacks and crate panels available, some limited adjustments to sizing, which can be dictated by the customer, etc).

The sizes currently available are (give or take - as sizing depends to some extent on the panels and legs used):

Small - 16.5"wide x 12"deep x 17"tall which is $245 + $38 shipping

Medium- 21.5"wide x 13.5"deep x 15"tall which is $295 + $48 shipping

Oversize - 26.5"wide x 22.5"deep x 16.5"tall which is $495 + $78 shipping

History of the Wine Crate Ottoman
In a prior life, a mere wine crate and a feed sack, Re-imagined into a cozy and comfortable
Storage Ottoman. Prop your feet up and enjoy a little piece of history.

Wine Crates: Made of solid pine, these crates come in a variety of sizes and are crafted by individual wineries to store and protect wine in transit, as well as to display the winery name. Most wine shipped in wooden crates originates in France. French wineries often have very low wine production in comparison to other countries. Because of this, there are only a few thousand wine crates crafted per vintage year. One or more sides of a wine crate are branded with the winery name. Wineries brand their names on a crate in two ways: embossing (painting) and engraving. Both ways are often done on multiple sides of the crate, except for wineries in Bordeaux, which brand only in the front. Wineries other than Bordeaux sometimes brand the long sides of the crate, and those are nearly twice the size as the front. Many of these wineries are hundreds of years old and add highly detailed and artistic designs to the sides. These branded sides have been removed from the crate and used as panels to construct the body of the Ottoman.

Feed Sacks: Cherished by America's farmers for years, cloth feed sacks are part of America's rural history and are now entering the marketplace as hot collectibles. Finding these gems in good condition is getting to be a rare occurrence. Many have been thrown out with the trash, others left to rot in a barn. Feed sacks were in their glory in the 1930's when farm and rural families were economically burdened. These sacks were the staple of vintage quilts and used to be the backbone of every farm wife's sewing cabinet. This was an era when nothing was wasted, because waste meant not making the mortgage payment, not putting supper on the table, or not buying new clothes. These beautiful feed, sugar, flour, potato, corn meal, salt, rice, and even bank and lead-shot bags are getting hard to find, and although reproductions can be found, original feed sacks are in limited supply...when they're gone, they're gone!
