Chinese bronze statue ‘Horse stepping on a flying swallow’

This beautiful bronze sculpture is a reproduction of a statue discovered in 1969 in a Wewei County Gansu Province, China in a tomb of the Eastern Han Dynasty.
The statue features a horse with his head raised, open mouth like if he is neighing and galloping forward with one foot stepping on a flying swallow. It is balanced on one hoof that rests on the back of the bird and it is mounted on a black wooden base.
This statue feels like it is in motion, with the vigor of the galloping horse with three hooves and long tail in the air.

Base 8x6x3”

13” high
16” front

Bird 5 ½”
