These fantastic pieces were found in the dig site of the South Carolina Arsenal, by Jeff Pitts
( see details of the dig here : http://jeffpitts-relichunter.com/Current_Dig.html ) The Federal Arsenal building was one of the first seized by the Confederates, and used as a military instillation from 1865 until 1879. These spoons were among the fabulous artifacts discovered. The listing includes the THREE pieces featured in the center three photos, the largest a soup or serving spoon, 8 inches long, two teaspoons, and the little set comes tied up with ribbon and would make a unique gift!
