This is a very unique, very large vintage deer figurine. It has been a fixture in my collection for quite some time, and have decided to let her find a new home - one that has a deep appreciation for such things (as I do!). There is an alien-esque look to this deer's face - slightly larger than body, elongated and with black eyes - that is especially endearing (pun intended!).

The deer is a rust-brown with a cream-yellow face, neck & inside of ears. Black eyes, nose & hooves.

I am not entirely sure of its medium, but it might be a chalkware sculpture or ceramic. It has no maker's mark (has a green felt-like substance on bottom). I place it as mid century (1950s) and made in Japan.

nearly 8" wide by 6.5 tall
solid, not hollow.
In good vintage condition; last image shows 2 chips. Also has quite a few flea bites. None of these detract from its beauty, though. This is a lovely piece to put along side other nature-themed pieces.
