The Peddler

"Come," the Peddler called to the Villagers. "Buy my wares, they are enchanted." To the women he said, "Wear my silks and you shall become more beautiful than all the Earth," To the men he said, "Buy my weapons and you shall become stronger than Nature. In return, all I ask is your inner beauty and your inner strength." The people laughed thinking, "What need have we of our inner strength when all in the world will be ours."

The moral of this story is to never trade your inner strength in exchange for outer things, whether they be people, circumstances or tangible things...:)

The above excerpt is printed on the back of this card and is from the children's book, "Deas" by Valerie Tarico.

The Illustration is by Tony Troy created in 2011.

Inside secret.....the man who posed for this Illustration is the artist himself....in real life however, he does not sport the beard or donkey.....
