This rare and beautiful 1950s wedding gown absolutely sets my heart on fire. Every detail is so carefully designed to create a romantic whole. The gown is crisp, light ivory organza over acetate satin. Throughout the dress, there are embroidered bouquets - two tulips and little sprays, tied with a bow. The most fantastic thing about this is that the tulips are STUFFED with a bit of cotton to make them three dimensional. The effect is fabulous.

The bodice is a classically 50's style with nipped waistline and beautifully princess seamed bust. The lining stops just above the bustline - the sheer organza a little higher, creating a soft scoop neckline at the front, and soft V at the back. The short sleeves are gathered along the top edge. The skirt is gathered to the back with a built in bustle of extra-full pleated organza that becomes the short train. An attached double sash flows down the train, embroidered with the same tulip bouquets.

I have many more photos of this dress - five just aren't enough to capture its beauty. It is a dress that makes a grand entrance, and leave a lasting impression. It's a dream dress.

This dress had yellowed with time, and I have lovingly, carefully cleaned it to restore it's glory. There remain a few small flaws, but they are not significant enough to detract from your special day. The gown was most tanned at the top of the shoulders, and the organza shoulders are still SLIGHTLY darker then the skirt, if the dress is folded to compare the two. As the shoulders/sleeves are the only sheer area, this is quite subtle. There is some underarm discoloration to the organza, and this is also harder to see, although present if one is paying attention. There is a further spot to the organza, under the left breast on the far left side - I do not know the origin of the stain, but one can see it in the close-ups of the bodice. It is a yellowing, about the size of the first half of my thumb. While this isn't invisible, it shows up more strongly with the photographic light. There is a small repair along the VERY EDGE of the organza neckline. There are no other flaws I could find - no issues of integrity or strain to the garment. It has been priced with both it's exceptional rarity and flaws in mind.
