For a Pagan kid and a Christian kid who want to show the world what good friends they are!
My first kids' interfaith friends necklace set was a huge hit, although it was mostly adults who wanted to buy it for themselves! This set was also made for kids, and unlike the first set, it is actually just as well suited to younger children as it is to older because of the comfy wear, durability, and subtle symbolism (more information below.)

Each necklace is strung on silky, comfy to wear "rat tail" cord, and both necklaces have sturdy end findings and brass lobster claw clasps. The necklaces measure 16 inches long, and feature a mixed metal design that is fun, eye-catching, and will match any other jewelry.

On the Christian set is a pewter sun, a brass heart, and a silver cross. The Pagan set has a silver star, a brass heart, and a pewter moon. The similarity between the two necklaces is further enhanced by four intricately detailed copper spacers on each one. Although the charms are different on each necklace, it's still obvious that they are a matched set.

One reason I believe these are good necklaces for children is that they have more subtle symbolism. The cross is the symbol of Christianity, and the star can be seen as a stylized pentacle to represent Paganism. The sun was used to illustrate John 8:12, where Jesus says "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." The moon is a symbol of the Goddess in Paganism, who is seen as the Great Mother of us all. And of course both necklaces have a heart in common to show that whatever each of us believes, there is no reason we can't be friends and love each other!
