This is set of three belt buckles from the 1900's at my best estimate. The buckles appear to be "stations", and might have been for a festoon style belt, as there are holes for dangling chains on the bottom of each buckle. The buckles are not marked or signed, but feature a Calla lily on each, and intertwined letters "VR" on the tops and "R" or "RS" on the bottoms. The "V" looks like a "U", but when researching this I became convinced that it is really a badly formed "V", as it is very similar to the classic intertwined "VR" for Victoria Regina. The buckles are made of silver plated brass. The "VR" stands for Victoria Regina, or Queen Victoria, and the Calla Lily was associated with her as well.

Each buckle is 2 1/2 inches by 1 7/8 inches with a dimensional depth of about 3/8 inches.

The set is in good condition. The metal has use and wear marks and tarnish, but no major dents, dings, scratches, or scuffs. There is some plating loss on the back of the buckles, where the brass metal shows through.

These are very striking in design and solid in construction antique buckles from the 1900's or earlier with references to Victoria Regina (Queen Victoria).
