FACT: I've never been to Venice, Italy, but my well traveled friends tell me this lovely watercolor is of Venice, and St. Mark's Cathedral. It was in an unworthy frame with broken glass; I liberated it, so it comes ready to frame. It looks to be original because it is on watercolor paper, but I can't be 100% certain that it's not a print on watercolor paper Also, as you can see in the close up, the pooling of the wet paint in the paper textures leads me to think it's original. I'm reluctant to remove the tape around the edges to investigate further because it is so old and stuck on, I fear injuring the painting. In any event, it is a lovely piece of art. The signature is difficult to decipher. It looks like Pignal. The painting style is mid century.

FICTION: Lorenzo told Linda to meet him in the square by the cathedral, and so there she was, like a fool, waiting for a beautiful Italian boy who was never going to show. Oh well, having a broken heart in Italy was easier than having one in Hoboken.
