DISTRESSED MID-CENTURY METAL TOOLBOX

“Papa, the door bell is broken,” Mama Bertelli yelled down the stairs to her husband who was working on something in the basement.

“Yes Mama, I’ll take a look at it.” Victor called back to her and then turned his attention back to the small device that sat on the workbench in front of him. He reached over to his gray metal tool box and pulled out a screwdriver. He leaned over the contraption and adjusted the lamp so he could see what he was working on better. He tightened a few screws and then returned the tool to the box. “There, that should do it,” he said aloud to himself.”

Mama yelled down again, “Papa, the sink is backed up again.”

At the sound of Mama Bertelli’s voice, the device suddenly lit up and a reel-to-reel tape began turning, then the recorded sound of Victor’s voice emitted from the machine, “Yes Mama, I’ll get on it as soon as I can.”

Victor smiled as he made is way to a large easy chair that sat in the corner of the basement. He sat down, filled and lit his pipe and then picked up a book and began to read.

“Papa, the backdoor is squeaking,”

The machine lit up and the tape reel began to turn again.

“I’ll be up to take a look at it shortly,” the machine bellowed as Papa sat silently in his comfy chair. He drew in smoke from his pipe and turned the page on his book.

ITEM DESCRIPTION:
Here’s Papa Bertelli’s wonderful old Sears Craftsman toolbox in all of its distressed metal glory, if only it could speak, I'm sure it would have endless tales to tell. This is a large tool box 18" wide, 9" high and 8" deep. It looks like it was originally slate gray in color but now has a nice patina of surface rust and paint spashes that give it some nice charm. The top looks like it was painted a copper color at one time. This box features two latches and a lock flap on the front and some nice embossed design lines along the front. We think this box is from the 1950's or 60's.

CONDITION:
This well-used toolbox has rust on the outside and inside but the integrity of the metal is still good and solid. It is bent and dinged in a few spots but the hinges and latches still work. The original Craftsman emblem is missing from the front but you can still make out "CRAFTSMAN" on the two front latches.

NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING on this item as it would be very expensive to ship because of it's weight and size.
