Hayao Miyazaki's 1997 anime PRINCESS MONONOKE, a complex and action-packed story of environmental turmoil, is one of my favorite films to come from Studio Ghibli.

My original poster design for the film focuses on San, a mysterious girl raised by wolf gods, and Ashitaka, a young warrior prince fighting to rid himself of a curse. They each stand as representatives of sorts for their respective worlds- man vs nature- and here they shake hands as a symbolic (and hopeful) joining of the two forces. San's wolf brother and Ashitaka's stalwart steed Yakul stand with them. The title includes the Japanese kanji lightly sketched, since I know English translations of titles can often be off the mark.

Printed on matte coverstock.
Measures 11x17", incl. thin white border. Unframed.
Designed in Photoshop CS5.
Signed and dated by the artist on back.
