A handmade stained glass trinity knot suncatcher made out of orange glass with a wire circle woven through the knot. The orange glass has a slight brown tinge and is translucent. Two wire circles are woven through the glass. A thinner wire has been placed in a wave design between the circles and soldered. This creates a more unique design that reflects some more intricate celtic patterns. The entire piece measures about 6 inches (15 cm) square.

The trinity knot, or triquetra, has been in existance for many years. It has many meanings-but the focus is on a threefold person-mainly the Christian trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirity. Other meanings have been the mind, body, and spirit or past, present, and future. The circle running through the knot signifies a unity of the three elements. (thanks to wikipedia for some of this info)

I have always been proud of my irish heritage, and have enjoyed working on something from that history. This suncatcher can be used at St Patrick's day, but also throughout the year for those who enjoy the celtic designs, or who want a symbol of faith.

All my glass pieces are made using the Tiffany method of copper foil and solder, along with my own imaginings. Each piece will be unique because of the variance of patterns within the glass, and the handmade quality. More of my items can be viewed here
