Beautiful little moth made from rescued fabrics.
Each made from new, old, vintage and found fabrics.
This paticular moth is made from a blackout curtain from a theatre that was going to be thrown away.
Such treasure!!
I like the idea of making a creature thats attracted to the light from somthing that blocks it out.
The front and back are strong black but the raw edges are a soft sage green.
The colours work beautifully together.
On his body is a small vintage spoon bowl which is sewn into place.
Its engraved by hand by myself and reads...
'Ive cried quartz without you'
Flaws, age marks, sometimes tiny printed numbers and odd stitching are celebrated and are to expected.
Designed as a decorative object he is both charming and utterly unique.
Hangs simply from a ring on the reverse.
Would look at great 'en masse' in a hallway, in a bell jar in a kitchen or resting above a fireplace.
They look great anywhere in the home and make a unique and thoughtful gift.
He will be sent out recorded so can be tracked and signed for on delivery.
Nothing I make is designed to be given to a child/baby as they are very delicate items which contain wire and beads.
This moth is 42cm in width and length is 15cm (not including antennae!)
Thanks for looking!
This listing is for one moth, no photographic props are included.
