This particular colorway was part of a color design challenge I set for myself. I wanted to introduce black to my colors to make my palate for sophisticated. The most successful color in this “New CIty” series is the New Yorker, a melange of mostly jet black with gold and brown. Sorry I am sold out of this color at this time. With Greenwich, I chose to add an emerald green and navy background to the jet black common theme of the New York series and I called it “Greenwich” because I thought of the Boho nature of the village. Silly me!
This particular skein is a sample size. I can spin more. Just convo me.

The Moira line of yarn is a handspun and hand-dyed mohair yarn. Mohair is by way the wool from angora goats. In the Moira line, I tried to replicate the fiber as it would look on the animal: curly, wavy, shaggylicious if you will!:) Each lock of fiber is spun and added to the next one in a technique called lock spinning. Then the single yarn is plyed with a cotton thread for balance and strength.

This yarn will look fantastic as a trim on a jacket collar or cuffs. I can also see a a trim of top of mittens or cool knee high socks.

Contents: 99% mohair, 1% cotton
Yardage: 48 yards, 44 m
Gauge: 2sts/ in on US size 15 needles

The garment was dyed in smoke-free, cat free studio.
