Rosary #39 in the Rosary a Day project and #4 in the Heirloom Collection! My main source of motivation for this rosary came from getting these gorgeous, royal blue agate beads in the mail. They are 9x6mm, faceted rondelles and the color is just stunning with the solid bronze findings I chose to accent them with. Because I liked the colors together so well, I decided to use large, 12mm, Bali-style bronze beads for the Our Fathers. Instead of chain, I used small, capri blue, Swarovski crystals for connecting pieces.

Each and every bead is wire-wrapped to the next for ultimate durability. The Hail Marys also have an extra swirl of wire around each bead. The center, featuring OL of La Salette, and the crucifix are both cast in solid bronze from molds of antiques.

All rosaries from Mary's Garden are handcrafted and the workmanship is guaranteed.

Why an heirloom rosary? The simple answer is quality. This collection of rosaries features only quality materials. Precious and semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals, precious metals, solid brass and bronze. The wire I use is only solid metal wire, nothing plated or coated. The same goes for the centers and crucifixes, solid metals not colored base metals. Many are hand-cast from molds created from antiques.

It is also quality construction. In the beaded rosaries, each bead is meticulously wire-wrapped to the next, no open loops to pull apart. In the chainmaille rosaries, jump rings are woven together to form strong lengths of chain.

An heirloom rosary is one that will stand the test of time. One that will last not only your lifetime but those of the generations to which it is passed. A true, beautiful, family heirloom.

**About the Rosary a Day Project: In his homily on New Year's Day, Father expressed a hope that we would all adopt a New Year's Resolution to give part of every day to prayer. To encourage this, he said, we should all say one Hail Mary, one Our Father and one Glory Be a day. I thought this was a wonderful idea considering I've never been very good at daily prayer. But I also know myself very well. With two little boys to get off to school, a house to keep and the office of my husband's business to manage, I knew I would put it off until I forgot and days would go by. So I needed to connect it to something, something I did everyday. While I was thinking about this, I was creating a rosary and I remembered an idea I had last year...to make a rosary or chaplet every day. And thus, the Project was born!
