“The Monster In The Mailbox is a wonderfully funny book!
The true to life shenanigans of the brother and sister make the book that much more entertaining. I touches on the subject of teasing and bullying as well. A valuable lesson for the children in today's world.
T.E. Watson has a winner here!"
Laurie Baker, Co-Owner Annie Laurie's Books
Origin of this story:
I was sitting in line in my truck at the post office waiting for my turn to place my mail in the big blue mailbox.
I was several cars back, just in sight of a green SUV. I watched the lady in the SUV try to jam a large pile of large envelopes into the opening of the mailbox all at once. But she also got her hands and arms wedged in the opening and was stuck in the mailbox. She struggled to get loose, yet it appeared like she was being pulled deeper into the mailbox the more she struggled.
I thought at that second that it appears that something has her and is not going to let here go. It is pulling her into the mailbox, which WAS big enough to eat her.
The Monster story was born.
Several people got out of their cars and tried to help her out, but finally one of the postal workers came out, opened the hatch below and reached up to help her let go of the mail and escape the mailbox. So it all ended well.
All ages love this book, kindergarten to adults.
