These WW2 gas mask bags were issued to homefront (viz. US-based) civilians (hence "noncombatant") and are most likely from 1943, from my research. They originally came with an actual gas mask (!) and scary instructions for use. Since it's unlikely we'll be gassed by Japan or Germany any time soon (the original fear), maybe they could be used as a cute purse/camera bag or be repurposed as part of a larger piece? Your call.

Each measures about 14" long (18.5" when opened) x 8" wide.

The 3 I have are in pristine condition (new old stock). Made of standard-issue army-green fabric, they are clearly stamped thus:

US
NONCOMBATANT GAS MASK
M1A2-1-1
LARGE ADULT
PROPERTY OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT
OCD

The funky logo under US is the one for the US chemical corps. Although there has been some concern about reproductions, the oxidized condition of the interior snaps, as well as interior lot stampings, lead me to believe they are authentic. I bought them at an estate sale of a retired military officer here in the DC area.

I'm always happy to combine shipping, and will refund any overcharges via Paypal that are more than $1 over actual shipping.
