Designed by renowned artist Leonard Baskin and first published in 1974, this Passover Haggadah is becoming more scarce in hardcover. It has become a central part of the Passover tradition for many Jewish families. The vibrant paintings, the arrangement of the Seder text for group or responsive readings, the inclusion of the simple musical score for each Passover song, and instructions for special blessings and rituals make this book a perfect introduction to the Passover Seder for children and a family treasure for young and old. From the jacket: "A Passover Haggadah reveals the marvelous patterns and vision of the Passover festival, many of which have been obscured for centuries. Its translation is a poetic achievement that allows the genius of the original to speak to us again. Optional readings—now printed in brown so as to be easily distinguishable from the basic service—present some of the precious jewels of Jewish literary tradition of the ages, as well as the wisdom of great poets and thinkers of the twentieth century. [This is] a work that is an authentic extension of its predecessors, a portrait of our present, and a testimony to our faith in the future.".
