An antique lantern flashlight with switch in the top. Perfect for home decor or as a box for personal belongings. This flashlight dates to the 1910s and because of the style, a guess will be circa 1912.

Condition: It is in good condition, but we can not tell you if it will be able to work. It requires big batteries and a person with flair for electronics may be able to make it work. But it is sold as found.

Measures (without handle): 11 x 9 cm / 4'3" x 3'5"

An idea: Why not but it on a bookshelf with your favorite old books?

The early flashlights ran on zinc–carbon batteries, which could not provide a steady electric current and required periodic 'rest' to continue functioning. Because these early flashlights also used energy-inefficient carbon-filament bulbs, "resting" occurred at short intervals. Consequently, they could be used only in brief flashes, hence the popular name flashlight.
