If you simply can't breathe well unless you're surrounded by good design, you may breathe easier with this hip little desk or table clock from the 1970s in view.

Made and signed by Michael Gnapp, New Hampshire, under the name "XYLONIX," using cherry and cocobolo wood with mother of pearl inlay.

More Details:

Michael Gnapp is perhaps better known as a woodworker to guitar maker Rex Bogue, from whom Gnapp learned inlay (explaining the guitar neck inlay reference in this clock's hour markers.) Gnapp has since used the name "XYLONIX" for his own line of handmade guitars.

Gnapp used beautifully grained colobolo and cherry woods when fashioning this beautiful desk clock, accenting the woods' deep red tones with reflective contrasting mother of pearl and brass-toned hands.

The clock measures just under 6" wide at the bottom of the base, and the overall height is 5 inches. This clock has been displayed but never run -- the woman from whom I bought it said that it was a gift to her husband, and that he never could figure out how to put a battery in it! With a little experimenting I found that the face of the clock is held in place with an "o" ring gasket, and the face lifts off to reveal the unused battery powered movement. I tested it and it works like a charm!

The clock runs quietly and keeps perfect time. It comes with a brand-new AA battery ready to go.

Pop it in, set the clock on its base and listen hard for the rock-n-roll of the 1970s. Especially for the sound of a hand-made guitar.
