Awesome example of this extremely rare gemstone. Blue dot was reputedly only found once in a pocket in the Ray Mine in Arizona.

This piece is gorgeous, with stalagtites / stalagmites of concentrically ringed chrysocolla in transparent quartz. The chrysocolla on these types of gems is fragile, so I don't know that it would ever be suitable for any piece of jewelry that will be taking hard knocks.

Shape of the stone is a fat, deep slightly curved oval. Really, just flat out beautiful.

Weighs 30.02 carats.

Measures about 13 mm x 32 mm x 8 mm deep.

Additional pieces included in this sale:

Deeply antique, cut from old material pulled out of the Live Oak Pit, at the Inspiration Mine, in the last century. Very rare and difficult to find, awesomely beautiful cabochon that melds some of the best this mine has to offer.

Displays delicious orbing and swirls of chatoyant malachite ringed with gem chrysocolla. There are a few dashes of blood red cuprite. Pools of true rich peacock blue gem silica nestle within chalcedony and rivers of gem malachite. A striking little swirl of sparkling crystals are embedded within the stone and flash in the lovliest of ways.

Truely irreplacable, one of a kind, perfectly suited to be framed in warm rich gold, or limned with cool lines of silver or platinum.

Weighs 57.92 carats.

Measures about 24 mm x 27 mm x 5.5 mm deep.

Beautiful, rich colors of peacock blue chrysocolla and emerald green malachite.

Little vugs and crystalline pockets on this one.

Weighs 30.02 carats.

Measures about 18 mm x 19 mm x 5.5 mm deep.
