Isn't he adorable?

This lovely lithograph by Cecil Aldin is fully mounted, matted and ready to frame. This no doubt dates from the early 1900s, is in wonderful condition and was probably originally part of a book. I believe this particular dog was named Mac, a West Highland Terrier who showed up in many of Aldin's pieces. This lithograph still boasts vibrant color and has the look of a watercolor painting. The white dog stands out against the sandy colored background and is complemented by a handsome colored mount and mat. The image size measures about 7" x 7", the outside mat measures 11" x 11.5".

A bit about Cecil Aldin:
This illustrator/artist was born in England in the late 1800's. He became famous for his artwork featuring foxhunt scenes and animals. He is most remembered for his depiction of dogs, being able to catch their spirit and essence in his quick sketches. Mr. Aldin illustrated many books over the years. Later in life, his arthritis prohibited him from being able to create his artwork so he became a book writer instead. Mr. Aldin's artwork is beloved by many all over the world.
