St. Jizo-San is a Buddhist bodhisattva who is widely loved for being the protector of children's souls. In Japan there are beautiful gardens full of Jizo statues. Grieving parents dress the statues up in little hats and bibs and give them pin wheels when they visit the gardens to pray for the souls
of their children.

I made this drawing for our daughter, AdiaRose, who was born at thirty-two weeks on September 22nd 2011, and passed away an hour later. We want to share it with other parents who are living with the loss of their child. I find a lot of peace in making these drawings, and I hope that they will bring some peace to grieving families.

This is an archival print of the original ink and prismacolor marker drawing. It is printed with archival inks on archival paper. The print size is 5 x 5 inches square and comes with a white border.

Peace be with you.
