The Native American tradition of corn husk doll making was the inspitation for this angel. A guardian angel or a unique decoration for any time of year, she would look lovely on a mantle, a table, or atop your Christmas tree. Traditionally corn husk dolls have no facial features and it is believed that their beauty comes from within.

SIZE: 8 1/2 high by 5 1/2 wide.

HOW SHE WAS MADE:
Corn Husk dolls were first made by Native Americans. As I have always taken an interest in the history and tradition of where ever I happen to live I was inspired to try my hand at this ancient art form. I work with the husks damp, tying and twisting them together while taking direction from their natural inclination. No glue is used. The dolls are then allowed to dry as they wish and develop their own personalities. To give the doll life and movement I look for husks which are imperfect (this one is discolored, that one has a ragged edge, the other will not lie flat and so on). GRACEFUL DOE has a corn husk dress and is decorated with natural colored feathers.
