These 2 vintage cookbooks were created by the Pet Milk Company and written by Mary Lee Taylor who had a radio show in the 1930s through 1950s. They are 8-1/4 inches tall and 6-1/4 inches across. The cookbook on the left, "Plain and Easy Meals for 2 or 4 or 6" has 15 pages and recipes such as Pineapple Icebox Cake, Braised Pork Chops with Milk Gravy, Cooked Salad Dressing, Spanish Tomatoes, Chocolate Tapioca, Savory Corn, Butterscotch Marshmallow Cookies, and Summer Stew. This cookbook might be called a booklet because it has just 15 pages, but double-sided with tips, recipes, and photos.
There are advertisements in both, and the second small picture shows the back of each paperback cookbook.
The cookbook on the right, "Delicious Wholesome Meals for 2 or 4 or 6," has 32 pages and includes recipes such as Divinity Icebox Cake, Easy Caramel Frosting, Spiced Coffee Milk Shake, Stuffed Vanilla Wafers, Economy Salad, Minted Cream of Pea Soup, Chicken with Bacon Gravy, Creole Steak, Cheese Souffle, Thousand Island Sauce, and more.
Both paperback cook books are slightly scuffed up and have a few stains inside. They have adorable pictures though, and are fun to read! Many recipes (not all) call for Pet Milk (an evaporated milk).
