Vintage snake bracelet from the 1920s in a very hard to find sterling vermeil. Exquisitely made with tightly wrapped sleek coils, elegant convex hexagonal scales. In very good condition with an attractive patina and surface scratches. Signed Forstner Sterling on the underside of the head. There's light wear to the finish, at the peaks of the brow you can see the smoky patina of the sterling beneath. Gold plate has some nicks and scratches, gleaming beautifully, and maintaining overall the sleek shine of the freshly minted sterling.

The tinted photo is of a rare vintage photograph postcard I found. On the flapper's wrist is a snake coil bracelet much like this one, but with three coils.

Forstner made these beauties in both single and double coils with this same style of head, in sterling, gold fill, and (rarest) sterling with a gold plate. I have two of these snakes in my own personal collection - I wear a single coil on one wrist, and a double on the other. They are among my very favorite pieces.

Flexible, with a snugly wound interior diameter of about 2 to 2.25 inches. Head is about a half inch wide.

Flexible, with a snugly wound interior diameter of about 5 to 5.5 cm. Head is about 13 mm wide.
