Here he is, a Classic! One of the most sought-after cookie jars around ;D Woodsy is a classic Icon of the early US Forest Service and their Pollution campaigns. This cookie jar was made by the McCoy Pottery in Ohio, in 1973. It is not marked on the bottom, But it is McCoy. Lots of detail in this cookie jar, and nicely done air-brushed coloring. Woodsy Owl is at the bottom in raised lettering. And on his guitar is 'Give a Hoot, Don't Pollute' I can still hear that tune in my head!

Woodsy measures 12 3/4 inches high by 7 3/4 inches wide by 6 inches in diameter at the base.

Overall, condition is excellent. There is crazing in the clear glaze, and the crazing in the bottom with some staining from cookie oils - this jar has been used but is in remarkable condition.

The lid has some wear to the red cold paint on his cap (lid), and 2 tiny glaze pin dots on the lid, no chips, cracks, repairs or crazing on the lid.
The base does have crazing and some slight staining in bottom, as stated. Also, on the 'Woodsy Owl' lettering is a missed spot of clear glaze, right between the D and the S. The glaze sort of pooled up around it. There are a few pindots and little tiny bumps here and there. No chips, cracks, hairlines in the clay body, no repairs, no damage. Only a faint smell of cookies, no bad odors. Clean inside and out, with only the mentioned stains at the bottom.

US shipping only.
