Driftwood is a soft grey-brown coloured yarn that is spun from the fibre of my own Blue-faced Leicester ewes that I had on my Iowa farm. They now live in Wisconsin, but I still have some of their fibre. This yarn was spun from a blend of fleece from my ewes named Corsica and Assyria. I love the natural colour of their fleeces and this yarn shows off their naturally lustrous fibre.

This skein is a single ply that was spun in a thick-and-thin style. BFL fibre is very soft and touchable and does not have the itchy or scratchy feel of some wools. Spun on my Schacht Matchless wheel, hot water soaked to set the twist, with a touch of Eucalan wool wash. Very lofty and well balanced for a single ply yarn.

All yarns are spun in my smoke-free home in my studio. I have a cat and a dog although the dog never goes upstairs into my studio. The cat does not take an interest in the yarns, but if you have a severe cat allergy, you should know that she does enter my studio at times.
