This 16' x 16" warming hut is on the slopes of Vail CO. ski resort. It was built 45 miles west and then disassembled and brought to the already completed floor.
The home owner has a "ski in ski out" property and this structure is, what he calls, his warming hut,
The walls are six inches thick and constructed of "Beetle Kill" Spruce cut locally in central Colorado. The corners are put together with, what is known as a Swedish Cope making chinking unecessary. The exterior side of each wall beam was broad axed for texture, The interior is paneled in Cedar. I also made the windows out of the same spruce.
The custom stone fireplace keep things toasty but just in case the stone floor is heated ;-))
