This design reminds me of an old European stained glass cathedral window, which is what I was aiming for. I wanted it to have a very old but also timeless and revered look to it, so I used one of my very vintage 'new old stock' French classic-styled angels made of brass that was then antiqued gold plated. I permanently attached the angel to the front of the flat table-top-like facet of the new Czech octagonal 25x18mm olivine glass faceted gem. I curved the angel's wings down a bit over the top edge of the gem. Before setting the gem and attaching the angel to its front, I removed the gold foil and the silver Argent mirror-like foil that was under that from the back of the gem. The foiling was added at the Czech factory when these gems were produced. You can see right through the gem now without the gold and silver foiling on the back, and the vintage 'new old stock' elegant etched front setting has an open back allowing a clear view straight through from front to back. Set and now complete in its elegant setting, the olivine gem centerpiece measures 1 1/4" tall top to bottom and 7/8" wide. I attached a vintage French made 'new old stock' etched and plated ring to the open loop at the top of the pendant setting. This ring is not only quite lovely, but it also function as the "run through" for the vintage 'new old stock' U. S. 1970's produced and 22kt. antiqued gold plated dainty Figaro link chain. This chain can be adjusted at 16", 18", 20" or 22" by clipping the new U.S. made 14kt. gold-filled large spring ring clasp into any of the U.S. made gold plated jump rings on the extender side of the chain that I made using the same chain.
