This cuddly owl has big, flappy wings and a smart, stripy pullover. Make him in any shade of brown, or white if you'd like a snowy owl, then pick two contrasting colours for his pullover, which is crocheted as part of his body.

The pattern is quite straightforward and suitable for beginner/intermediate crocheters. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi, with photos to help you. They are written using US crochet terms, and the list of abbreviations includes the UK alternatives. The pattern is a downloadable PDF file and you will need Adobe Reader to open it. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you are making it.

Yarn requirements:
Use double knitting (dk) weight yarn. This is equivalent to light worsted, although worsted weight should work just fine, as long as you use the same weight of yarn throughout.
Approx 60g yarn for body and wings.
Approx 30g main yarn for pullover including ribbing.
Approx 20g secondary yarn for pullover stripes.
Small amount of yellow or black yarn for beak and claws.
Small amount of cream or white yarn for inner eye circles.
Small amount of dark brown or grey yarn for outer eye circles.

You will also need:
1 pair 16.5mm amber or yellow safety eyes.
Tapestry needle.
3.5mm hook (US E hook).

Finished size: approximately 6.5” tall
