These ceramic bird salt and pepper shakers are very colorful. Many bird shakers were popular during the 1930's through 1960's. Some were manufactured in the US by companies like Napco in Ohio. These were made Japan as is clearly marked on the bottom. They are hand-painted have no nicks or scratches and the corks are in place. Any defects are from the manufacturer. They have plenty of character and would look good a in variety of decors.....oriental, Spanish or south seas. Their height is approximately 2.5 x by 1.5 at the base.
