This ceramic butter dish was formed from a mold I made from one of my Grandmother's candy dishes. The turquoise dog was molded from an IKEA doorstop. I used a turquoise glaze on the dog and a copper red base on the butter dish.

**Each item is functional and food safe**

Each piece is individually hand built from molds created from found objects. These objects range from heirlooms handed down from both of my grandmothers, to items usually discarded in the trash or found washed up on the beach.

Each piece is created from porcelain and fired to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit. This type of intense reduction firing causes the glaze to transform in color and depth. These changes are most pronounced on the edges, adding interest to the form of each piece. This means that each piece is one of a kind and the variations seen in color and texture are all a part of the item's story.
