This porcelain butter dish was cast from a mold made of a heirloom candy bowl. The bottom portion of the butter dish was made to compliment the lid and has a lovely scalloped detail in the corner. The bird shaped handle was cast from a mold made of a plastic bird whistle.

This lovely butter dish is built to last and, with care, will last many lifetimes.

**Each item is functional, food safe, and can be washed in the dishwasher**

Each piece is individually hand built from molds created from found objects. These objects range from heirlooms handed down from both of my grandmothers, to items usually discarded in the trash or found washed up on the beach.

All butter dishes are cast using porcelain and fired to 2300 degrees Fahrenheit. This type of intense reduction firing causes the glaze to transform in color and depth. These changes are most pronounced on the edges, adding interest to the form of each piece. This means that each piece is one of a kind and the variations seen in color and texture are all a part of the item's story.
