Whimsical and playful for a baby shower, child's birthday party or a party for a maternity leave, plantable paper "Pea Pod" favors look just like a bunch of peas in a pod. I make them from 100% post-consumer waste paper and wildflower seeds, so they can be recycled by planting after you have used them.

Choose the color of Seed Bombs you would like and the color of the wrapper on the outside. (Wrappers come in green, blue, pink or yellow; seed bombs are available in any color.) A favor with three Seed Bombs wrapped up together in one pod is $1.75 each. When your guests unwrap these favors, they will find the following playful planting instructions tucked underneath the colorful balls:

In these balls, little seeds wait to grow.
Just find a barren place, then give them a throw.
Water well then keep moist for 6 to 8 weeks,
Until little seedlings come out for a peek.
Many flowers will share their colors to the max.
Like baby blue eyes, purple cone flower and blue flax!

I have been making paper by hand since 1992 and am proud of the caliber of my products! I buy only the freshest, highest quality non-GMO seeds for all of my plantable papers — I never use hand-gathered seeds that might not pass quality control standards. Every batch of paper gets a generous scoop of seeds ensuring the most germination possible. I use the best scraps that I can find, saturated with color. I don’t use any dyes or bleaches to create my paper - the color comes only from the scraps.

Your pea pods will be made using recycled paper and more than 40 wildflower seeds. These seeds can be planted in conditions ranging from full sun to half shade, and in soils from sandy, clay or acidic to moist or dry. Flowers will bloom from the Northeast to the Southwest, gardening zones 2-8. Take a look at the last photo to see a seed bomb starting to sprout!

++++ I cannot ship outside of the United States because of Customs restrictions on shipping live seeds.

---------------------> Here's all "the dirt" on my plantable papers:

STORING YOUR PAPER: You can store your plantable paper in any cool (not freezing) dry place that is not subject to extreme temperature variations. Some products come packaged in an acid-free plastic envelope. If you will not be using your plantable paper for a while, please open the plastic packaging so the seeds can breathe. For best germination, you should plant your paper within 12-18 months of purchase.

PLANTING YOUR PAPER: To force your plantable paper indoors, simply moisten the paper until damp but not wet, put in a plastic jar and cover with plastic wrap. Place in a warm, sunny window and you will see little seedlings in about 2 weeks! If planting outdoors, wait until all danger of frost has passed, then rake the soil, scatter the paper onto the soil, cover with 1/4 inch of topsoil, water and keep moist until germination, approximately 6 to 8 weeks.
