This handy-sized square dish was made from stoneware clay by me. It measures 11.5cm (4 1/2") square and is 3cm (1 1/8") high.

It has been glazed in a pale green glaze that pools to a pale blue where thick.

The patterned surface you see underneath the glaze on this work comes from a 100 year old piece of textured window glass from an Australian Federation (c1900) house. Typical of the era, the design features our native Flannel Flower. To achieve a reproduction of the design on my ceramics, I have made a plaster cast of the glass surface. I press a slab of clay onto the plaster so that the clay picks up the pattern. My ongoing challenge is to develop forms and techniques that allow me to use this precious heritage design.

This dish was fired to stoneware temperature (1260-1280C), making it strong and chip resistant. It is dishwasher and microwave safe. As with all ceramics, take care regarding thermal shock.

IF I HAVE CHARGED MORE THAN THE ACTUAL POSTAGE BY MORE THAN $2 I WILL REFUND THE DIFFERENCE IMMEDIATELY AFTER SHIPPING.
