So much thought and incredible vintage and antique goodness went into this necklace. This necklace represents the fact that although this is a great big world, we all look at the same sky. I must say, I love how it came out.

It all began with the amazing antique world globe, circa 1920. Ths is a very unusual antique musical spinning top toy in the form of a world globe.

It is a lithographed tin orb with a steel shaft running through it. The pair of round holes on two sides of the top were made to produce a loud whistling tone when the top is spun rapidly. Hence the name Whistling Top.

The top is in good condition. There are no dents, scratches or scuffs. It has a great patina produced by age and is very sturdy.

As soon as I obtained the globe, the song 'He's Got The Whole World In His Hands' kept popping into my head. I couldn't let it go, so I created this necklace.

The hands of a vintage brass crucifix now support a neck chain comprised of antique rosary connectors, antique mother of pearl rosary beads, 2 decades from a broken antique glass rosary and vintage rhinestone encrusted beads. Gorgeous coin pearls flank a simple brass hook and loop closure at the back.

From the foot of the crucifix, I wired another stunning coin pearl to represent the clouds. Dangling just below the cloud via brass chain is an absolutely gorgeous chunk of aquamarine, representing the sky. More brass chain and a rhinestone encrusted barrel bead to represent the sun. The globe has been wired to all of this goodness---but we are not finished yet! A beautiful antique copper colored metal button with steel images of a crescent moon and a wonderful old brass medal depicting a Guardian Angel dangle along the steel shaft of the globe.

This was a labor of love and is absolutely One of a Kind.

The necklace chain measures approx. 18 in. The globe assemblage drop adds another 9.5 in.
