This unique impression of a bonsai willow tree is made of 26 gauge aluminum wire that has been hand twisted and crafted. It is mounted on a surreal base of aragonite crystal that I picked up in Yuma, Arizona. The impression I achieved was of a lone tree in a landscape blanketed with virgin snow. I titled the tree, "Winter Solitude". The silver colored wire screams of a tree coated in ice. From my childhood it conjured up images of a winter wonderland. Waking up after a rare Atlanta snow storm, I would get my first look of the wintry scene and could not imagine anything more beautiful.

I cannot pass up on a wonderful rock and the aragonite used as my base certainly spoke to me. It was beautiful and extremely interesting. To me it was reminiscent of the snow covered top of Big Mountain in Whitefish, Montana. There you see surreal landscapes of "snow ghost", trees totally covered in snow. I like the aragonite crystals as they were rounded and lacked sharp edges. The white surface of the specimen portrayed the blanket of snow scene that I imagined.

I hope this tree conjures up good memories of your own. I am well pleased with it and hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. Height: 8", Length 8", Width 6".
