This bracelet was created for the Etsy Beadweavers Team March challenge on the theme "Destinations"

I have chosen as my destination, the beautiful region of Bahia in northeast Brazil, which is known for its beaches and historical towns. My bracelet depicts the sand and surf as well as green luxurious vegetation. It's my dream to make the trip there one day with my friends who play in my samba-reggae percussion band. Here is an article which describes the natural and cultural treasures to be discovered in Bahia: http://travel.nytimes.com/2007/11/18/travel/tmagazine/14place-opener-8days.html

To create my freeform bracelet, I used a lovely kiln-formed glass cabochon by a fellow artist, Mickey Kunkle. I used a variety of Czech seed beads and Japanese cylinder beads. The cab is stitched in peyote around the edge and back and the bracelet is stitched in brick stitch with a toggle and loop closure. Fits a 6.5" wrist.
