This unusual necklace is made from what appear to be pieces of colorful tree bark which have been glued together and shellacked on the reverse. The artist has signed the piece on the back, “Tree Shells of Hawaii by Alma.” The focal piece is glued to a black satin cord strung with matching wooden bead accents. This design has a wonderfully organic shape and natural woodland vibe.

The bark piece measures about 3.25” tall x 3.5” wide. The cord measures about 28” long at its longest, but is adjustable shorter (the ends slide, so you don’t have to re-tie it). The photos show a missing bead on one of the cord ends, but I replaced it, as well as the bead shown, with two similar, matching wooden beads. Otherwise, the condition is great. This is a lightweight piece which is fairly sturdy and should hold up well with normal to light use, but care should be taken not to crush or break it.
